Nave clue

    Also just and idea, sorry if people have already ruled this out. People keep writing about the identity of the nave. But a person would be a knave with a k. Nave is part of a church, essentially the bottom leg of a cross.

    I had wondered about that sort of nave too. My french isn’t great, but I think it’s true that it could be that sort of nave. Perhaps that makes more sense as a church might be a feature on the map. Isn’t it also the case that churches traditionally face a certain way? I don’t know much about it, but isn’t the alter always facing East? Not sure if this links, or where the nave might be. Just a thought!

    I didn’t realise that but just checked and yes the always put alter east so nave would always extend to the west.
