This website is now an archive
This website covered the Golden Owl treasure hunt, including the final stages of the hunt when it was declared over on October 3rd 2024.
The site is no longer being updated and is preserved here as an archive of that period. There have been significant developments, discussion and controversy surrounding the Golden Owl since the material here was written, but I am no longer closely following the hunt and won’t be attempting to keep this website up to date.
Articles and pages should therefore be read in the context of when they were originally published.

The Golden Owl was in Dabo!
The treasure hunt is over. Finally, after 32 years, we know the owl was buried 6.94m away from the centre of the Borne Saint-Martin stones in Dabo.
The answers to the clues were revealed on May 2nd in a documentary film in French cinemas. The film, ‘Finding the Gold Owl’ is now available for English audiences with subtitles. You can rent the film online HERE.
The solution document, as written by Max Valentin in 1993, is available HERE.
